Exporting Data

Usage Analytics can export data as a CSV file for offline analysis, reporting, or sharing with stakeholders.

How to export

  1. Set up the desired filters - time period, user groups, and courses - using the filter bar at the top of the page.
  2. Click the Export CSV button in the filter bar.
  3. A toast notification appears while the CSV file is being prepared.
  4. The file downloads automatically to the browser's default download location.

File format

The exported file is named using this pattern:

analytics-export-YYYY-MM-DDTHH-MM-SS.csv

For example: analytics-export-2026-06-25T14-30-00.csv.

The CSV includes comprehensive analytics data matching the filters applied at the time of export.

What's included in the export

The CSV file captures the same data shown in Usage Analytics, structured for use in spreadsheet applications or data tools. Depending on the filters applied, the export typically includes:

  • User engagement data - Counts for enabled, active, non-active, churned, and non-starter users.
  • Session time data - Total platform time, simulation time, mentor time, and per-user averages.
  • Simulation data - Total simulations played, completed, and incomplete, with completion rates.
  • Satisfaction data - CSAT scores, confidence scores, and survey response rates.

The data in the export matches exactly what is shown when the button is clicked - same filters, same numbers.

Filter requirements

All filter fields must be set for the export to work:

  • Time period - A period must be selected.
  • User groups - At least one group (Global, a region, or a cohort) must be selected.
  • Courses - At least one course must be selected.

If any required filter is missing, an error toast appears with a message indicating which filters need attention.

tip
  • Large datasets may take a moment to export. Wait for the success toast before trying again.
  • The export respects all active filters. For data covering all users, make sure "Global" is selected in user groups and all courses are selected.
  • Open the CSV in any spreadsheet tool - Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or a BI platform.
